Few people have an open mind when you explain you're home-schooling and most have one or more questions (which may or may not be an indirect criticism of your decision to educate your children at home).
This e-booklet is a compilation of the questions most commonly put to home-schoolers, and the answers I give to them. As a mother who has been home-schooling for many years I have had a lot of practice in dealing with the curious, the incredulous and the plain rude who have asked my children the inevitable "No school today?".

The author attempts to answer many very common questions that parents who homeschool their children are often asked. However while reading this booklet I often felt like she was angry or defensive. There are some grammatical errors and typos. But as opposed to one other reviewer, I found the language usage and spelling to be decidedly British (learnt vs. learned, focussed vs. focused, neighbours vs. neighbors, oganisation vs. organization, for example). I also thought the book was not well researched and was merely a compilation of personal experience and opinion.I do not recommend this book to a homeschooler or someone considering homeschooling. But for those who have heard about someone who homeschools, who don't know a homeschooling parent personally, and who are curious, this book can serve as an inexpensive way to glean answers from one person's viewpoint. It is by no means an end to the journey, but rather a first step.

...share her reasons for homeschooling. An encouraging, concise opinion piece that makes logical sense. Would have appreciated some empirical evidence.
It is an ok book. Definitely worth the 99 cent price. The author does bring up some good points although I would hardly consider them concise. These would be great for strangers & people you are talking to while waiting in the checkout lane. It might also be something to give to a relative or friend who does not really know anything about homeschooling. The answers are really quite general. If you are looking for really concise answers or advise go to homeschoolbuzz's site, or better yet try the homeschool legal defense association's site (HSLDA). There are also some great videos made by homeschoolers on youtube.
I would also like to know the name of the author's editor ; so I could be sure to NEVER hire them. The spelling errors are atrocious. I swore I was going to scream after the third "learnt" Augghh!! The editor apparently does not know about spell check!
